Belmond at Casa Higienópolis invites guests to discover the world of Belmond through a seven-day residency set within a neoclassical mansion in São Paulo, in partnership with Iguatemi. Rooted in place and slow luxury, the experience reflects Belmond’s approach to the art of travel, offering a programme of live events that bring its properties to life.

The opening unfolds as a private dinner inspired by the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express, expressed through layered visual motifs, communal dining, and a live piano performance.

Guests are welcomed into the mansion through subtle cues of Belmond’s design language. A bespoke patterned carpet extends beyond the entrance, drawing visitors inside to meet the concierge before being guided through the house; each room conceived as a window into one of Belmond’s iconic properties.

The Bellini Listening Bar channels the spirit of Hotel Cipriani in Venice through sound and taste, with live mixologists and a curated vinyl selection, while the creative world of Thebe Magugu reflects the cultural identity of Mount Nelson in Cape Town.

The journey continues with the culinary vision of Pía León, bringing the essence of Palacio Nazarenas in Cusco to São Paulo through cooking classes and an educational exhibition. This is complemented by wellness rituals led by practitioners from Maroma in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, inviting moments of pause through meditation and sensory immersion. Completing the experience, the Belmond Bookstore gathers the brand’s editorial world into an immersive library, connecting visitors to its wider cultural collaborations.

The overall design reflects Belmond’s signature style, expressed through dark timber panelling, polished silver accents, and rich applications of colour and pattern. A cohesive framework runs throughout the house, while each room subtly integrates the identity of its corresponding property. At the same time, the intervention remains sensitive to the character of Casa Higienópolis, allowing the mansion’s architecture to remain present.
