Drawn to Craft is a window series created for Hermès, celebrating the poetic precision of dressage through the language of drawing. From stable to arena, the journey of horse and rider comes to life in bold block colours and expressive 3D gestural lines; strokes that leap from the artist’s canvas into space. Much like a pencil tracing motion across a page, the choreography of dressage draws elegant patterns across the ground. This concept echoes throughout the installation, where every line and texture is hand-drawn; reinforcing the connection between artistic process and the craftsmanship at the heart of the Hermès world. Complementing these hand drawn elements, rich, tactile materials ground each scene, with floors designed as three-dimensional landscapes: from the raked sand of the dressage arena to hay-strewn stable floors and the earthy textures of the paddock. As the narrative unfolds, each Hermès object is seamlessly woven into the scene as an active protagonist; a scarf caught mid-air, a boot in stirrup, a bag elevated like a trophy. Drawn to Craft honours both the equestrian heritage of the house and the meticulous artistry behind every Hermès creation.
